The Potential of Sukadana Basalt Province as a New Geothermal Resources in The Back Arc of Sumatra

Geothermal resources are currently obtained from areas within volcanic arcs, such as the Pertamina Ulu Belu and Supreme Energy Rajabasa Fields. However, this understanding may change in future, Quaternary Sukadana Basalt Province (SBP), located back arc, is believed to have potential a future geothermal energy resource. This research aims explore various factors that contribute high heat flow SBP region generate new perspective on particularly Lampung province. The methods used integrate previous findings, data, regional tectonics, geological structures, with petrography-whole rock geochemistry. whole geochemistry was determined using X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF), Inductively Coupled Plasma-Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP-OES), Plasma-Mass (ICP-MS). formed by Paleogene northwest-southeast striking fault influenced northeast-southwest fault, which serve conduits for hydrothermal fluid addition their vesicular structures. Geochemical analysis suggests presence of both mantle plume subduction-related processes. magmatism linked subduction-plume tectonic mechanisms thinning crust due pull-apart motion caused movement two large faults (Sumatra Fault Zone Bangka Shear) can increase 100±10 mW/m2. As result, has significant source electricity generation future.
